Abstract
SUMMARYThere is increasing evidence that, next to multiple other health benefits, physical activity can also protect brain health in old age. However, it is less clear whether physical activity is also of cognitive benefit to older adults who already experience mild cognitive impairment or dementia. This article aims to provide an overview of relevant randomized controlled trials, summarize the practical implications for clinicians and highlight suggestions for future strategies.
